Terms of service

By creating a HashPay account, linking a phone number, sending instructions to HashPay on WhatsApp, or otherwise using the service, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use HashPay.

These terms may be updated from time to time; continued use after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.

HashPay is a payments application operated by HashPay that lets individuals and merchants hold and transfer HNGN (Hash Naira), a token pegged 1:1 to the Nigerian Naira and recorded on the Kross blockchain.

HashPay provides custodial wallets, peer-to-peer transfers, funding and payouts, bill payments, merchant collections and a WhatsApp banking assistant.

You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to enter a binding contract to use HashPay.

You must provide accurate identity information for KYC verification. Transaction limits are tiered based on your verification level in line with Nigerian regulations.

You may hold one active HashPay account. Multiple accounts created to bypass limits may be suspended.

You are responsible for keeping your phone number, password, transaction PIN and WhatsApp linkage secure. Authorise transactions only yourself.

HashPay creates and securely stores the wallet keys for your custodial wallet. You may request a self-custody export where supported.

You are responsible for all activity under your account and must notify us promptly of any unauthorised use.

HNGN is intended to remain at parity with the Naira. HashPay maintains Naira reserves to back issued HNGN and publishes reserve and on-chain supply information on the Proof of Reserve page.

HashPay handles minting and burning of HNGN independently at the corporate level to maintain parity with bank reserves. Funding and payouts operate as transfers between your wallet and the HashPay treasury wallet.

HashPay is not liable for changes in the value of HNGN relative to other currencies caused by factors outside its control.

You may use HashPay for lawful personal and business payments within your verified limits.

You must not use HashPay for money laundering, terrorism financing, fraud, sanctions evasion, gambling where prohibited, or any illegal activity.

You must not attempt to reverse, double-spend, or manipulate transactions, or access another user's wallet or data.

Network fees for sending HNGN are currently sponsored by HashPay at no cost to you. Funding, payouts and bill payments may carry service fees, which are shown before you confirm each transaction.

HNGN transfers are recorded on the Kross blockchain and are generally irreversible. Verify recipient details before confirming.

HashPay may reverse or hold a transaction where required by law, where fraud is suspected, or to correct an error, and will notify you where permitted.

By linking your WhatsApp number to HashPay, you authorise HashPay to process payment instructions sent from that number. Money movements require explicit confirmation and your transaction PIN.

You are responsible for keeping your linked WhatsApp number and device secure. Unlink your number from HashPay if you lose access to it.

Our handling of your personal data is described in our Privacy Policy. Using HashPay constitutes consent to those data practices.

HashPay is provided on an 'as is' and 'as available' basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, HashPay is not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages arising from your use of the service.

HashPay is not liable for failures of third parties including banks, billers, telecommunication providers, blockchain validators or Meta/WhatsApp.

HashPay may suspend or close your account where required by law, where these terms are breached, or to protect users, reserves or the network.

You may close your account at any time by contacting support. Open obligations must be settled before closure.

These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Disputes shall be resolved in the competent courts of Nigeria unless otherwise required by mandatory law.
